A: Not currently, but if that situation changes, I’ll advertise any future openings through my mailing list.
A: Thank you for telling me! My email address is the best way to reach me: songsandpagesLLC@gmail.com. This website is supposed to send me an email every time someone uses the contact form, but one person has told me that the form didn't work for them, and that same problem might have also happened to others who didn't bother to keep trying to reach me. This website is hosted on the GoDaddy platform for free, so it might not be realistic to expect it to always work properly. (Also, I apologize for the way that this site foists "cookies" on everyone! I wish I could make that stop.) If the contact form continues to be a problem, I'll remove it from my site. Meanwhile, if you don't hear back from me, try my email.
A: Short answer: I play anywhere that people hire me to play :-)
Long answer: I play for select public events, private gatherings, and occasionally other busking locations similar to Mesilla Plaza, in Las Cruces and beyond, with local permission. From time to time, my busking set includes titles that I'm in the process of preparing for an upcoming wedding. For the latest news on where to hear me play, you can join my mailing list, or follow me on Instagram @songsandpages.
A: Weather and personal schedules permitting, musicians busk during every Mesilla Mercado, except on Sunday mornings, because Saint Albino’s Church broadcasts the live audiostream of every Sunday 11am Mass from loudspeakers that can be heard throughout the plaza.
If you linger long enough at the Mercado, depending on the day, you might get to hear three musicians taking turns according to our shared schedule: a guitarist, a pianist, and myself.
The Mesilla Mercado fall/winter/spring hours are November through April from 11am-4pm, and the summer hours are 9am-2pm, May through October.

A: Sorry, I don't let anyone touch my harp anymore. However, I'm happy to demonstrate how it works, and I can usually play a song that's familiar to your child, such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star / ABC song, or You Are My Sunshine.
One time on the plaza, a child around 6 years old asked me to play a song from the CD that she listens to at bedtime, but she wasn't sure of its name... Then she hummed the start of Brahms's Wiegenlied, which of course I know. While I played it, she yawned slowly and reached out to her dad for a hug. Never under-estimate the power of a good lullabye :-)

A: Of course, and would you please share a copy of that video with me? That’s always really helpful. The web-app WeTransfer.com works great for videos, or you could share a cloud link with me via email.
A: Yes! I enjoy playing for all sorts of occasions. I don’t have a standard hourly rate because every gig is different. Some hours require more practice and preparation than others. But my overhead expenses are relatively low because I play a small lever harp (not a concert grand pedal harp), so I can accommodate just about any music budget.
A: Short answer: I’m still working on it :-) But I’ve been a professional musician my whole life.
A: Longer answer: After my husband and I moved to Las Cruces, around Labor Day, 2022, I started playing the harp every day after a very long break. Back in the year 2000, I rented a large-ish harp and took lessons with a classical harpist in Cambridge. After about six lessons, I set the harp aside in order to focus on raising my beautiful newborn daughter, while continuing to work part-time as a school music teacher.
A: My harp is an electro-acoustic instrument, which means it can be played either with or without electronic amplification. The specific model that I play is a Ravenna 26, made by the Dusty Strings Co. in Seattle. Mine was built circa 2005. It is my only harp.
When it was first made, it was a purely acoustic instrument. Then, a couple of years ago, I installed a pickup and an output jack (both made by Dusty Strings) similar to the ones on an electric-acoustic guitar.
Last year, I started messing around with a Boss RC-3 looper pedal, and as of the time of this writing (February 2026) roughly 30% of my usual set involves the looper. My pedalboard right now has a Peterson tuner, a Fishman pre-amp EQ (to boost the harp signal for the effects pedals), an EHX Canyon looper/delay, and this RC-3, all powered by a Joyo battery pack. My amp is a Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge.
A: I was born in Boston, grew up in Boston, and then lived in the suburbs north of the city until moving to Las Cruces in September 2022. When I first came to Las Cruces, I lived in an apartment complex near the University. Recently I moved "way out in the county", to a place with a lot of room for making music.
A: These days, and for the foreseeable future, just the harp. But at the start of my career, I played a lot of weddings and private events as half of a flute and harp duo (I was the flutist.) I have a bachelor's degree in flute performance from New England Conservatory. My work experience includes teaching beginner band (flute, clarinet, trumpet, alto sax, baritone horn), and teaching general music (playing the piano and guitar to accompany my students at their concerts.) I also had an exciting sidequest working as a handbell choir director for three different church parishes (simultaneously) and during that time, I started handbell choirs in two of my schools.
